About This Location
Keep walking along the Motława on Długie Pobrzeże and watch for the tall brick gateway facing the water. This is Saint Mary’s Gate - Brama Mariacka - a late Gothic “water gate” from the fifteenth century that once controlled access between the quay and the Main Town. It was destroyed in 1945 and rebuilt in 1958 to 1961. Look through the arch toward Mariacka Street - the famous lane leading up toward Saint Mary’s Church.
